Last October we shot Brienne and Eric’s engagement session on a chilly, windy day at the Cornwall waterfront. Their wedding day was quite the opposite – 90+ degrees and blazing sun. Brienne and Eric were referred to us by a former client. Based on the level of fun and excitement we had experienced before, we knew we were in for a crazy good time.

Brienne and Eric’s apartment, located in a classic brick house overlooking the Hudson River, provided a great spot for photos in the morning. They were married at St. Francis of Assisi church in Newburgh, and we headed to the Poughkeepsie waterfront for the bridal portraits immediately following. There were tons of people at the waterfront, and we ran into some very interesting characters. We finished up partying the night away at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, and what a party it was!

I had to include this shot in the blog post as it represents a truly historical moment. The guys were watching the New York Yankees play the Tampa Bay Rays. Coming into the game, Derek Jeter was just 2 hits shy of reaching the 3000 hit milestone. He had gotten a hit in his first at bat, and in his 2nd plate appearance hit a solo home run. He became only the 28th player in history to reach 3000 hits, the first to do it as a Yankee, and only the second to do it with a home run. When this happened, the guys erupted with excitement! It was so hard to choose one photo from the sequence because they were all filled with such emotion. Unfortunately Eddy was with the guys so I had to find out via text message, but I TiVo’d the game and watched it when I got home. Brienne and Eric are forever tied to one of the most significant moments in baseball history.

Audrey and Brian are high school sweethearts that finally tied the knot this May. Both grew up in Hyde Park and attended FDR High School, and they just bought their first house nearby too. Audrey and Brian’s engagement session highlighted many of the things that they love about this area, and the wedding had a definite local focus as well.

Audrey and Brian chose to do a first-look session, where the bride and groom see each other for the first time before the wedding. The private setting allows us to capture real emotion in an private and comfortable setting.
 

 

 

 

 

After the first look and some group shots, we hit the streets of Hyde Park for some of the bridal portraits. The center of town was buzzing on a Friday afternoon, and we certainly drew a lot of attention with drivers honking horns and shouting “Congratulations!” as they drove by.
 

 

 

 

 

 

The priest gave a recap of the story of how Audrey and Brian met back in high school, and there were many funny moments.
 

 

 

Everyone exited the church except Audrey and Brian. They closed the doors, and when the best man knocked on the door Audrey and Brian came out and were showered with rice.
 

 

 

The grounds of Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel provided some great spots for a few more bridal portraits.
 

 

 

The back patio of The Grandview, with its scenic views of the Hudson River and Mid-Hudson Bridge, also provided for some great bridal portraits.
 

 

 

 

Instead of using boring table numbers for their place cards, Audrey and Brian used photos from their engagement session to match guests up with the proper table. Each guest got a photo of Audrey and Brian, and had to find the table with the corresponding photo on it. The photos looked great.
 

 

 

The best man, Brian’s brother, gave a great toast that had them back and forth between laughs and tears.
 

 

 

 

Both the father/daughter and mother/son dance were very emotional.
 

 

 

 

 

 

Audrey and Brian, we’ve enjoyed getting to know you this past year, spending lots of time photographing you in various places around town. Your wedding was a blast, and we hope you love the photos.

This post has been a long time coming! Last August, we got the chance to photograph one of my best friends’ wedding. Here are a few shots from the day.

Last September, we began our photographic relationship with Maritza and Erwin during our engagement shoot in Central Park, New York, NY. Last Sunday, they were married at the Woodbury Country Club in Long Island, NY. It was an amazing wedding and Maritza and Erwin couldn’t be more perfect for each other. On July 17th, 2010, Natasha and Andrew took the steps to begin their life together as one. It was a hot summer day at the Tashua Knolls Country Club in Trumbull, CT and everything went smoothly. Nick had to bow out of this one because his baby girl was making her big entrance into the world so I shot this one solo.
