It was the shoot that was just meant to be. Ginny contacted us with 4 days notice for a family portrait session to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. They are self-described “last minute type of people,” that seem to have the good fortune of things just working out.
Ginny and Mark were married 10 years ago at West Park Winery, the very place we met for the photo session. For them at the time, it was just a beautiful place to get married – they weren’t even living in the area. But recently they’ve settled locally, and were amazed that this special place is now so close by. Ginny thought this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise Mark with an intimate ceremony and picnic, so they could relive that special moment and share their happy memories with their two daughters. Ginny is also 8 months pregnant, so we took the opportunity to take some maternity shots as well.
It was wonderful to spend a couple of hours photographing such a sweet, amazing family. They really are incredible people and care for each other greatly. Here are a few of our favorite photos.
Venue: West Park Winery – West Park, NY
Ginny had special floral arrangements made in the likeness of the ones they had at their wedding.

Ginny and Mark were married under this wrought iron arch, and they’ve been lugging it from home to home for the past 10 years. An 8 months pregnant Ginny loaded it into the car by herself so that it could be there to surprise Mark for the anniversary celebration.

They have two beautiful daughters, and although they look nothing alike, they are both as sweet as can be.

We spent a few minutes focusing on the happy couple.

And we finished the night with a great family portrait on the swing.

Ginny and Mark, we had a great time photographing your family. I hope that the emotion captured in the photos always reminds you of the love and happiness you shared on that day.

We met Vasty and Josue as a couple at my best friend Erwin’s wedding. They are wonderful role models to the youth at their church and mentor them regularly. We can’t wait to photograph their wedding this October.
Here are a few shots of them hanging out at the St. Mary’s by the Sea coastal area in Bridgeport, CT:

Enjoy the rest of the summer and see you in October!!

Nella and Sam are a very special couple to me. I really felt like I was photographing two members of my immediate family. We did their e-shoot just a few weeks before the wedding. It is so wild to have watched them grow up and ultimately end up married!
On one of the hottest summer days this year, family and friends came to celebrate their union. It was a grand celebration indeed. Here are a few details from the wedding:
Ceremony: FSBC of Bridgeport, CT
Reception: Grassy Hill Country Club, Orange, CT
Hair: Hair by Soledad, Bridgeport, CT
Makeup: Naomie St. Pierre
Flowers: MB Floral Design, Norwalk, CT
Cake: Julia’s Bakery, Milford, CT
DJ: Ronald Derise Entertainment
Here are a few shots from the day:

As Naomie did Nella’s makeup, her mother helped her father with his suspenders in the adjoining room.

Two moments occurring at approximately the same time.

After the formals, the couple drove the golf cart to the great oak tree on the golf course.

During this soul train line, the groom decided to perform some dances from the early 90s that had everyone in stitches.

Congratulations Nella and Sam! We wish you the best in the years to come.

To say Jen and Adam are in love is an understatement – they are 100%, completely, head-over-heels for each other. Capturing this emotion in photographs was a real joy. As we reviewed the images after the wedding, the thing that really stood out was that the photos truly capture “them”.
Jen and Adam’s Engagement Session last year at Lake Minnewaska State Park was very relaxed and a lot of fun. Their wedding was more of the same. Jen and Adam are planners, they knew exactly how their day was going to go, made a plan, and executed it to the minute. We joked with the other vendors over how this was the smoothest wedding we had ever been a part of. Here are some of our favorite photos from the day.
Ceremony and Reception: Catlin Gardens – Slate Hill, NY
Hair/Makeup: Beauty by Nicole
Flowers: Flowers by David Anthony
Cake: The Pastry Garden
Bride’s Dress: Demetrios
DJ/Band: Jimmy Dee Music
The newly constructed Catlin Gardens Inn is a great compliment to the wedding facilities and gardens, making Catlin Gardens a perfect wedding venue.

Jen insisted that Adam double-knot his Chucks.

Some details from the morning.

Jen looked perfectly gorgeous.

Jen and Adam opted for a first look – as Jen approached, Adam started to feel a little nervous to see her.

Jen was so excited as she tapped Adam on the shoulder to turn around.

Jen and Adam spent a few private minutes just looking at each other, exchanging hugs and kisses.

Then we headed out to the gardens for the bridal portraits…so many great shots on the bridge.

I love the way the trellis frames Jen in this shot, it was taken randomly as we were moving toward another location.

The bride and groom chose to express themselves via their choice of footwear.

Some details from the reception.

Jen and Adam made a grand entrance and truly enjoyed their first dance.

Adam’s brother gave a funny toast about growing up with Adam. Jen’s sister chose a more emotional toast.

We could tell Adam was looking forward to the Hora all day because he was so excited when the chairs came out. Jen on the other hand was a little terrified at the thought of being hoisted in the air on a chair. She had a good time once she was up there, as their family and friends paraded them up and down…

Jen and Adam, your wedding was beautiful and filled with such great emotion. We hope that by seeing the pictures, they can help you re-live some of these happy moments. Thanks for letting us capture your day.

Last October we shot Brienne and Eric’s engagement session on a chilly, windy day at the Cornwall waterfront. Their wedding day was quite the opposite – 90+ degrees and blazing sun. Brienne and Eric were referred to us by a former client. Based on the level of fun and excitement we had experienced before, we knew we were in for a crazy good time.
Brienne and Eric’s apartment, located in a classic brick house overlooking the Hudson River, provided a great spot for photos in the morning. They were married at St. Francis of Assisi church in Newburgh, and we headed to the Poughkeepsie waterfront for the bridal portraits immediately following. There were tons of people at the waterfront, and we ran into some very interesting characters. We finished up partying the night away at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, and what a party it was!
Ceremony: St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh NY
Reception: Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel
Hair: Lori Henry, Middletown, NY
Makeup: Marisa Verdi, Flawless Image Makeup
Flowers: Jenny’s Floral Design, Newburgh, NY
Cake: The Pastry Garden
DJ: DJ Brian Stylez, Stylez Entertainment
The classic look of their apartment provided a great backdrop for amazing details.

The guys got ready at a friend’s condo, also with beautiful views of the Hudson river.

I had to include this shot in the blog post as it represents a truly historical moment. The guys were watching the New York Yankees play the Tampa Bay Rays. Coming into the game, Derek Jeter was just 2 hits shy of reaching the 3000 hit milestone. He had gotten a hit in his first at bat, and in his 2nd plate appearance hit a solo home run. He became only the 28th player in history to reach 3000 hits, the first to do it as a Yankee, and only the second to do it with a home run. When this happened, the guys erupted with excitement! It was so hard to choose one photo from the sequence because they were all filled with such emotion. Unfortunately Eddy was with the guys so I had to find out via text message, but I TiVo’d the game and watched it when I got home. Brienne and Eric are forever tied to one of the most significant moments in baseball history.

Outside of Brienne’s apartment was just as beautiful.

We captured this great moment as the girls came out of the limo and up the church stairs.

“Keep it in the Kingdom!”

Some details at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel

Brienne and Eric enjoyed their first dance, as their family and friends looked on.

We have tons of great shots of the guests dancing and partying the night away, here’s a few of our favorites…

Bri and Eric, your wedding was a blast, we really enjoyed spending the day with you, your families, and friends, and we hope you love the pictures as much as we do. Congratulations!
