We met Audrey and Brian earlier this year at a Bridal Expo and were happy when they contacted us for a consultation. Audrey had a clear idea of what she wanted and it sounded great to us. Audrey and Brian are high school sweethearts and wanted to capture some special moments around town at locations that had meaning to them and their relationship.
The engagement session with Audrey and Brian has been an ongoing project for a few weeks now. There were a number of locations they wanted to shoot at, so we split it up over 3 sessions. It took a bit of time to get them all done because of weather, but we managed to get them all in before the first snow. Another unique aspect of this shoot which we really enjoyed was that they requested all of the images to be in black and white. Although vivid colors can be beautiful, they can also be distracting – shooting in purely black and white allows us to focus on the subject and the composition of the photo. In some cases, the color version of these photos would not have even made the final cut.
The first stop was Holy Cow Ice Cream in Red Hook, NY for a small cone.

And then we moved on to Village Pizza in Rhinebeck, NY.

A couple of quick shots outside Foster’s Coach House Tavern concluded session #1.

We met Audrey and Brian early on a Saturday morning for some shots at their new house.

Brian suggested a shot with them standing on the roof. At first we didn’t think it was such a hot idea, but in the end it turned out great – thanks Brian!

Session #3 started out at at Audrey and Brian’s alma mater, FDR High School in Hyde Park, NY.

And it ended up at Norrie Point in Staatsburg, NY.
